Determination of fees district North

The current structure of fees for the service of pilots has existed since 1859. However, since 1957, a national fee for all Dutch ports has been established. This structure was adopted by the company when it was privatised in 1988 and has, since then, remained the same. From March 2005 onwards, the fees will differ from region to region. The fees, as well as the structure of the system, are determined on a yearly basis by the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management. They are shown in Euros and do not include VAT.

Ships pay charges that consist of :

Sea-pilot fees (Z-fees): concerns pilotage at sea. It is a fixed fee that is not dependant on the distance covered. It is determined by the actual draught of the ship.

River-pilot fees (B-fees): concerns pilotage between sea and berth. The fee varies per voyage and is dependant on the distance covered as well as the actual draught of the ship.

Additional fees and fixed sums: dependant upon the type of voyage and region.
